The vast majority of my artwork involves image transfer on some level. I use vintage magazine images, stock photography and my own photography in all my work... What that means is that if you love a particular piece, colour combination, surface treatement, etc. I can use YOUR personal photography to acheive a similar look and feel as any of original collage pieces.

Imagine... your favorite wedding photo developed into an organic, layered, vintage [or contemporary] inspired collage canvas; or a photo of your teenage daughter, layered into a beautifully feminine, softly pink collage with 'street poetry; or how about a antique family photo of a favorite aunt, uncle, grandmother or grandfather in a soft, vintage, ecru and lace layered collage. The options are virtually unlimited.

Commissioned ArtworkIf you are interested in booking a commissioned paperWERXings: Mixed Media collage, here are a few things I need to know to start your design:

  • what is your favorite [or your subject's] colour combination?
  • do you prefer B/W photography or colour photography in your collage?
  • do you want to incorporate'street poetry'?
  • can you tell me a little bit about your photograph? Who the person/people are, what they are doing and what do they mean to you?

Here is the basic information you need to provide me with in order for me to prepare a price quotation:

  • what size do you want? Common sizes range from 6x6x1.5" to 24x24x1.5" canvasses.
  • do you want an original collage? Or do you want a reproduction on canvas? Or do you want both?
  • if you want an original collage canvas sizes are limited to:
    • 6x6x1.5 deep
    • 8x8x1.5 deep
    • 10x10x1.5 deep
    • 12x12x1.5 deep
    • 6x12x1.5 deep
  • do you want a giclee canvas?  giclee canvasses start at 12x12 and can go up to 48x72 in size.
  • if you are going to be providing your photograph in a digital format it be at least 8x8" at 300dpi [2400x2400 pixels] for it to be 'workable'. Bigger is definitely better in this situation.
  • if you cannot provide a digital image at the minimum size [please see above], you may provide me with hard copy, printed no smaller than 5x7. I will scan the image, at high resolution, to the correct digital size.
  • I do not provide major editing or photo retouching of the photography without an additional service charge. If you request photo retouching, the charge per hour is $50 with a minimum 30 minute charge of $25.

The fine print: All commissions are subject to my current production schedule and may occasionally take longer than expected. Please allow a minimum of 2-3 weeks for ordering and delivery. All commissions cost on average 10-20% more than my standard pricing due to the customized nature of the artwork. Please consult the Buy Me! price guide for an initial estimate.
